Economic Development and Growth

The private sector drives the Alaska economy, which is why the Senate Republican Caucus prioritizes low taxes, taming government spending, and supporting economic development.

We currently have three bills designed to put the state’s fiscal house in order: The Sunset Act (SB 107), the Executive Budget Act (SB 37), and a GDP-Based Spending Cap (SB 36). We can reduce the overall state budget and help Alaskans keep more money in their pockets by assuring government operations are efficient, effective and sustainable.

Education Performance

Any increase to the BSA (base student allocation) should come with education policy reform aimed to increase student learning outcomes. Alaska saw great success with the READS Act, illustrating how policy reform with a targeted spending increase can help students succeed. Students are Alaska’s future, and we want to make it the brightest yet!

Energy and Responsible Resource Development

Alaska was founded on the basis of resource development, and we as the Senate Republican Caucus do not take this responsibility lightly. The Great Land holds an abundant supply of natural resources — such as energy, minerals, timber, agriculture, and seafood. Unlocking this bounty of natural wealth will raise Alaskans’ prosperity and enhance the country’s economic and national security for generations to come.

Election Integrity

Honest and secure elections are the backbone of any Republic. The Senate Republican Caucus emphasizes rapidly delivered election results, voter ID, accurate voter registration and maintained voter rolls.
